Studio Manager, Carrie Williams, is available by phone call or text messaging, if you

need to see her for any concerns that you may be having. If you need to speak to her, she can schedule an appointment for a private meeting. You may call her at anytime 308-225-0657.

Practice Wear

Practice wear is required for all classes. If a student is not dressed appropriately they

will be asked to sit and watch class. Student’s hair must be tied back and secured for

class. No gum, candy, pop or jewelry! Water bottles are a must. Practice Wear can be

purchased online at www.dancewearsolutions.com , Target and/or Payless. Practice Wear can include loose fitted clothing to move freely in, barefoot and/or a pair of clean sneakers (For Hip Hop), Ballet classes please wear either loose fitted clothing, barefoot/pink ballet shoes. Or wear pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and pink skirt.

We ask that students do not wear outside shoes on the dance floor, they must not contain rocks, we need to protect the dance floor. Rocks, weed, stickers, pop, food, etc. on the dance floor can damage the dance

floor. Please have students hair up and out of face for all classes, practices, and

performances. Please label your child’s dance wear with their name. Your child may bring a water bottle to dance.

Insurance

Freedom Dance Studio does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required

that all dance students be covered by their own family insurance policies and if injury

occurs it is understood that the student’s own policy is your only source of

reimbursement.

Snow or Bad Weather:

The studio will usually follow public school decisions on class cancellations for bad

weather. We will announce on Kneb Radio and The Facebook “Freedom Dance

Classroom Page” if classes are canceled due to weather. Freedom Dance reserves the

right to cancel classes at our discretion. We will not put any child in danger due to

weather. Any classes that are missed or canceled can be made-up by attending another class close to the same level.

Holidays

The studio will be closed for the following Holidays: Labor Day (September 2), Halloween (Oct 31), Thanksgiving

(Nov. 27-30), Winter Break (December 23-January 3), Spring Break (April 10-13)

and Memorial Day (May 28).

Attendance

Good attendance is imperative, as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire

class; and the studio cannot jeopardize its responsibilities to the rest of the class for one

student. If more than 3 out of the last six classes are missed, unexcused, the dancer

WILL NOT be allowed to participate in the recital. Please make every effort to attend

every class. Missed classes will not be deducted from tuition payments. Make-up

classes should be attended. Please contact me if your child will be missing a class at

least 3 hours in advance. As I work very hard on planning your child’s class. For

excused classes missed, you may have a makeup class.

Make-Up Policy

If for any reason your child cannot attend class, they are encouraged to attend a make-

up class within the month. (No extra charge for make-up.) See Carrie Williams for

proper class placement.

Dropping off and picking up dancers:

Parents are welcome to drop their child off for dance class. Parents of young children

may wait in the waiting area. Please be on time to pick up your child after class. If a

parent is late, after the last class of the night, you will be charged $1.00 per minute to

pay for the teacher or manager to stay and supervise your child. This charge will be

added to your bill.

Private Lessons:

Advance payment is required. After the payment is made in full you may schedule

appointments with the instructor. Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to lesson

or you will be charged $1.00 per minute of class time missed.

Communicating with Instructors

We work very hard to keep you informed by e-mails, text messaging, Facebook

Messenger and updates on our Website, Facebook Page and The Freedom Dance

Family Classroom Secret Group on Facebook. Make sure we have your email address as well as you have ours, so our email does not end

up in your junk mail. However, it is your responsibility to keep up to date by reading

newsletters, e-mails, checking the information board, Website and Facebook. If you

have a question about the dance studio please do not ask instructors during or in-

between classes. We will be more then happy to help you with any questions at a

proper time. The instructor/instructors have very tight schedules and are not able to

meet with parents during class because it can use up valuable class time. If you need to

talk personally to an instructor please schedule an appointment so that the instructors

can give you their full attention.

Lobby Area:

Please be careful of conversation topics because there are many “little ears” around.

Please do not talk about adult topics, dancers, parents, or instructors. This is not

appropriate for the lobby area. If you have a problem regarding the instructors, other

students, parents, etc., please see Carrie Williams to discuss it. By talking about it in the

lobby you are undermining the instructor’s authority or hurting the feelings of other

dancers and their parents. Please help us to promote the most positive environment

and make everyone feel welcome.

Recital:

The dress rehearsals for the recitals in 2019 & 2020:

December, 2019: TBA

Friday, April 24, 2020 Dress Rehearsal 5-7 pm at the Guadaloupe Center, Scottsbluff.

Saturday, April 25, 2020 Dance Recital 10-11am at the Guadaloupe Center, Scottsbluff.

There will be only one recital performance as scheduled because of expense. Please

reserve these dates now because your child will be performing. The dress rehearsals

are mandatory for anyone performing in the recital. (Dancers who do not attend the

dress rehearsal, do not have the proper attire/costume for dress rehearsal and

performance, WILL NOT be allowed to perform in the recital.) Recitals: There will be a free will offering taken at time of entrance. This goes in the dance students Fundraiser account.

COSTUMES:

Recital Costumes Must Be Ordered by the Student’s Parent/Guardian and DELIVERED

TO YOUR HOUSE BY APRIL 1, 2020 and DECEMBER 1, 2019. Instructor is not

responsible for ordering your child’s costume. Recital costumes will run $30 to $70 per

costume. If you need assistance purchasing a costume, please ask instructor for help.

This is why we do have Fundraisers. If you participate in a fundraiser, you qualify for

assistance if needed. Each class should only need to purchase one costume. If a

dancer is in more than one class he or she will need to purchase additional costumes.

The costume size that will be ordered is at the parent’s discretion. Once costumes are

ordered there are no refunds or size changes. Any alterations needed are the parent’s

responsibility. All tuition accounts must be up to date at this time.

Recital Photos

Recital photographs will be taken during dress rehearsal times. Photo shoots during

dress rehearsal provides convenience for parents and allows teachers to be available

for posing. Those parents wanting additional instruction for their children for recitals

during this time are encouraged to utilize our make-up policy.

Late fees and Returned Checks

There is a $10 late fee for ALL late tuition payments. This fee will increase by $10 each

week thereafter until account is paid in full. If total bill is not paid by date set, the dancer will have to sit out of class. All fees must be paid in full before recital or the student will not be able to participate. There is a $36 fee for ALL returned checks and automatic payments. Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Tuition is non- refundable and is paid to save your child’s place in class. If your child has decided to stop attending class, you must inform the instructor at least 2 weeks before payment is due. If we are not contacted we will continue to bill you for saving your child’s place in class. You are not charged for Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, or Spring Break.

Registration

All dance class registration is done at the dance studio. You must register before

participating in any classes.

Fundraisers

We are a dance facility that participates in Fundraisers. We will do Fundraisers

October-November; February-March; June-July. We are a low tuition dance school that

offers an alternative for affordable dance education. When you participate in a

fundraiser, you qualify for assistance you may need for costumes, competitions, dance

conventions, travel fees, etc., that pertain to your child’s dance education. If you do

need assistance, please ask the instructor. If you choose not to participate in a

fundraiser, please donate.
